The Bird or Byrd line is said to date back to Hugo LeBird's (Hughe L'Oise or Lois or Layse) arrival in England with William the Conqueror in 1066.
From here all I have are names, but no details:

Hugh Le Bird and Agnes de Bickerton
David Le Bird and Maud de Edge
John Le Bird and Alice Bulkeley
Thomalyn Le Bird (b. before 1440) and Phillipa Buxton
Henry Le Bird and Winifred de Raley

Henry Le Byrd
Henry Le Byrd was born in the early 1500s. He married Anne Philkin, and they had two known children:
  1. John Le Byrd (b. c1570; m. Elizabeth Burgh; 5 children)
  2. Thomas Le Bird (m. Alice/Ales Palyn)
Why the two sons spelled their names different is unknown.
Death and burial info for Henry Le Byrd is unknown.

John Le Byrd was born c1570 presumably in England. He married Elizabeth Burgh (b. Broxton, Cheshire, ENG), and they had five known children:

Thomas Le Bird
Thomas Le Bird was born c1580 in Brexton, Cheshire, ENG. Sometime before 1600 he married Alice or Ales Palyn (b. c1580/85, Middlesex Co., ENG) and they had only one known child:

Thomas Bird was born c1600 in Brexton, Cheshire, ENG. On 18Sep1617 at St. Andrew by the Wardrobe, London, ENG, he married his first cousin Elizabeth Bird, and they had three known children:

  2. John Byrd (b. 1620; m. Grace Stegge, step-sister to William's wife Hannah; 7 children)

Elizabeth Bird
Elizabeth Bird was born c1600. She married 18Sep1617 at St. Andrew by The Wardrobe, London, ENG to first cousin, Thomas Bird, and they had three known children:
  1. William Bird (b. c1619; m. Hannah Grendon Jennings (widow); 1 child)
  2. John Byrd (b. 1620; m. Grace Stegge, half-sister to William's wife Hannah; 7 children)
  3. Thomas Bird (b. c1621, ENG; d. 12Mar1708/09 Henrico Co., VA)

William Bird
William Bird was born c1619 in England. He resided in Martins Brandon, Charles City Co., VA and married widow woman Hannah Grendon Jennings. There were only two children:
  1. Thomas Bird (m. Mary __?__; 3 children)
  2. Elizabeth Bird
William Bird died before Sep1672 when Hannah remmarried. Info about burial or immigration is not known.

Thomas Bird
Thomas Bird's birth info is not known other than he was not "of age" when his father died. Thomas married Mary __?__. There are three children:
  1. Elizabeth Bird
  2. Mary Bird
  3. Tabitha Bird (m. Richard Jones)
Death and burial information is not known other than on 04Mar1728 Elizabeth sold land which she inheirited to Tabitha and Richard. However, this was just after her own husband's death, which could have placed Thomas' death somewhat before.

Elizabeth Bird
Elizabeth Bird married in 1703 in Surry Co, VA to John Lanier. After his death she remarried to Thomas Clare(y). There are four known children, all attributed to the first marriage:
  1. Bird Thomas Lanier (1703-c1788, m. Mary Madison, 11 children)
  2. Lemuel Lanier (b. c1707, m. Hannah Peters, 6 children)
  3. Robert Lanier (b. c1709)
  4. Benjamin Lanier (b. c1711, m1. Elizabeth Warren, m2. Lucy Pennington, m3. Martha Wilkinson, 7 children total)
The only information regarding her death/burial is that her second marriage occured sometime prior to 15Aug1730.
