140. Richard Warren (Source: History of the Warren Family A.D. 912-1902, Rev. Thomas Warren, F.R.S.A. Ireland, first published 1902, again 1982.), born Unknown in Kent, England; died 1628 in Plymouth, Massachusetts. He was the son of 280. William Warren? and 281. Alice?. He married 141. Elizabeth Jouett Marsh Bef. 1611 in England. 141. Elizabeth Jouett Marsh, born Abt. 1583 in England; died October 02, 1673 in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Notes for Richard Warren: Richard Warren was one of the first to set foot on land at Plymouth, Massachusetts December 21, 1620, coming from England on THE MAYFLOWER. The ship arrived at Plymouth on November 20, 1620, but they sailed around the area for several days until they decided to drop anchor at the place called Plymouth Rock, in Massachusetts. Then the Pilgrims and other passengers disembarked to begin to make their homes in the strange new world called New England. The Pilgrims suffered many hardships those first years, and specially the winter of 1620. Many of the original immigrants perished due to illnesses. We are familiar with the legends and traditions surrounding the Pilgrim settlement at Plymouth, and about how the Indians helped them to survive. Richard Warren and his wife, Elizabeth Jouett Marsh Warren, had seven children. Elizabeth died October 02, 1673 in Plymouth. She was 90 years old.. Richard died in 1628, but since we don't know the exact date of his birth, we don't know his age at death. We can assume he was a fairly young man, but old enough to have seven children. Note-1997: According to The Mayflower Home Page on the Internet, " Elizabeth, wife of Richard, was NOT a Marsh, Evans or Jewett - three commonly thrown around myths. Her maiden name is unknown. Richard's wife Elizabeth came on the ANNE, 1623, following her husband who came on the MAYFLOWER in 1620." Richard Warren joined the Pilgrims from London, and was the twelfth (of 100) who signed the Compact of Government on board while in Cape Cod Harbour. His wife did not accompany him in the Mayflower, but followed with her five daughters in the Ann, arriving at Plymouth in July 1623. They had two sons born in New England. Notes for Elizabeth Jouett Marsh: Later research declares that this Elizabeth is neither Jouett nor Marsh, in fact her maiden name and her parents' names are yet unknown. Found on The Mayflower pages on the Internet, summer 1997. Elizabeth came to Plymouth, MA on the ANNE, 1623, following her husband who came on the MAYFLOWER in 1620. Five daughters came with her.
