GFWC LANDMARK Womans Club
For several years, doctors from Russia have come to St. Judes Childrens Hospital in Memphis to study childrens oncology. Through the Methodist Outreach Program, these doctors spend 3 months in Memphis. While they are working here, they enjoy learning about the people of this area and the way we live. GFWC Landmarks members have acted as hostesses for the visiting teams, taking them to see points of interest, shopping and out to dinner and so forth.
Dorothy and Neil Crader have spent countless hours with the Russian visitors, and several of the doctors have kept in touch with the Craders by email after returning to their homeland.
Following the tragedies in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania on September 11, 2001, Dorothy received the following emails: (copied exactly with original spelling and grammar)
From Oleg and Anna: September 19, 2001 Subject: WTC attack Dear Neil, dear Dorothy! We hope, all your family and friends didnt suffer in that massacre. It is time to cooperate the forces of all democratic nations to crush the evil. We are staying with you. Konstantin
