You Know ? GFWC was honored with a U. S. Postage Stamp in September
1966 on Our 75th Anniversary!
From "Reaching Out: A Story of the General Federation of Women's Clubs" page 339: "The crowning achievement of the Diamond Jubilee celebration was the issuance of a commemorative stamp by the U. S. Post Office, a stamp carrying the name of the General Federation of Women's Clubs and depicting two women attired in styles that spanned the years of GFWC history. It was a horizontal stamp centered with a blue seal. On the left was the figure of a woman in Gay '90s bustle gown with wasp waist and leg-o-mutton sleeves, wearing an ornate hat and carrying a parasol; on the right was portrayed a woman in modern-style sheath dress. Imprinted on the center seal was "75 Years of Service for Freedom and Growth". It was a five-cent stamp." 4500 delegates and visitors attended the Diamond Jubilee Celebration at the 1966 convention in Chicago Illinois.
