GFWC of TN Presents…..
Two Outstanding Club Women:
Tona Turpin and Anne Babin

GFWC of TN Outstanding Club Woman 2001-2002

It was with pride that The GFWC Landmark Woman's Club of Germantown submitted the name of Anne Babin as our nominee for the GFWC of TN" Clubwoman of the Year" award.

Through the years I've known Anne, I've always been impressed with her knowledge, efficiency, and willingness to help and share her knowledge with others.

Anne has been active at the Local, District and State levels of GFWC of TN, as well as many other organizations. She takes an active part in several organizations.

We who know Anne, know how much effort she puts into making the TN Federation News the outstanding publication it has become.

When Anne was presented the TN Clubwoman of the Year award our District Nine and GFWC Landmark members beamed with pride for a very accomplished, dedicated and deserving lady.
Submitted by Mildred Smith, President, GFWC Landmark Woman's Club

Outstanding Junior Clubwoman of 2001-2002

Tona Turpin became a member of GFWC of Tennessee Ossoli Circle in August of 1999. She became active immediately and was asked to be the Chairman of the Ossoli Junior Department for the year 2001-2002. Under her leadership the department implemented six new projects in which they helped to raise funds for Interfaith Health Clinic and Serenity Shelter as well as other organizations. Along with these fundraisers, she also served on other committees, House and Grounds, Ways & Means, and Literacy plus many others. At the Spring District II meeting they were rewarded with seven first places; and one first and three second places at the State level.

She worked for membership extension as co-chairman of Membership Coffees. She worked to promote interest of new members and old members in the activities of the club.

Because of her interest in GFWC of TN, she enjoys attending District II meetings and has participated in Board Meetings and business meetings at GFWC Ossoli Circle. She has been elected to serve as second vice president of GFWC Ossoli Circle.

She enjoys the summer reading program at the Laura Cansler Boys and Girls Club in which she serves as Day Chairman.

As the newly appointed Junior Art Coordinator for the GFWC of TN Juniors, she has already put together two summer art programs for preschool and first and second graders.

Her most memorable moment, however, was the day she was nominated for the Outstanding Junior Club Woman of the year. She was honored and proud to represent the GFWC Ossoli Circle. Next came the most exciting time and that was to bring home the Award to GFWC Ossoli Circle and District II. The more she becomes involved with GFWC of Tennessee, the more she can see what great accomplishments can be achieved.
