GFWC of Tennessee Convention 2002 - Nashville

The Convention at the Radisson at Opryland is "history", but what a wonderful addition to our GF of TN history it is! The Convention Committee, headed by Convention Chairman Margaret England, Districts IV, V, and VI and the GFWC Andrew Jackson Centennial W. C., spared no effort to make this one of the best -- if not THE best-- we've ever had. Attended by over 220 members and guests, the whole weekend was enjoyable; the meal functions were well planned and the menus excellent. The decorations were unsurpassed, particularly the Installation Banquet on Saturday evening.

Our special guests, GFWC 2nd Vice President Jacqueline Pierce and Thistle Farms representative Regina Mullins were welcome additions to the agenda, bringing humor as well as uplifting and informative messages.

All the members of GFWC of Tennessee thanks Susan Martin and her Executive Board for two inspiring and exciting years.

We welcome the new administration, with President Lana Robinson and her board. They are already working hard to bring yet another exciting two years to our membership.

Susan Speaks -- " for the last time…"

The 106th annual GFWC of Tennessee Convention was an overwhelming success! Just another success story to add to our many over the past two years.

Twenty-two enthusiastic volunteers met on Friday for a Day of Service project at Thistle Farms. We made product, labeled product, polished product cans, and had a wonderful time of fun and fellowship with some of the ladies from Magdalene House. Regina Mullins, our keynote speaker, was an inspiration to all with her heart-felt story. For a first time effort, we made an impact. Thanks to those who worked and to those who bought product on Saturday at Convention.

Congratulations to the new officers! I am sure they will serve you well these next two years. As I said in my final report, I am not dropping the ball --just moving on. I am sure you will continue to give your support to Lana, and you should take a good look at the new programs and projects to get involved in for the well being of your communities.

As this administration comes to a close, it has been a tremendous journey with fond memories and lasting friendships. Thank you for your support and cooperation. Be proud of your accomplishments these past two years. You have made outstanding contributions to your communities and influenced the lives of many. Together we have shared our GIFTS and "Gotten Involved for Tennessee's Success.." I wish for you the best as you continue your commitment to Tennessee and the GFWC of Tennessee. sbm
