CARLA'S COMMENTS -

Carla Goff, Director of Junior clubs

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer, boy has it just flown by! I am so excited to be serving as your Director of Junior Clubs. It was such a joy traveling to Kansas City with Lana and attending my very first GFWC International Convention. If you haven’t been making plans to attend next year in Little Rock you must, it really puts everything we do into perspective. Plus you have a wonderful time with the greatest friends!

I really believe that together Lana and I will met the challenge set before us by our International President, Judy Lutz “GFWC NOW MORE THAN EVER”. I look forward to setting into action the plans we have worked on over the past few months. I know that the Juniors we are ready to work to strengthen the foundation of our state federation by growing our membership in the Junior Clubs. I realize that as Junior Clubwoman we are the future of this federation; so let’s all work together and not forget that:

“a past remembered…a future fulfilled.”

Our Junior Board will be publishing once again a Bulletin to go out Quarterly. I feel that along with Clubwoman Magazine and the TF News this will be a great leadership tool for our Junior Membership.

I look forward to visiting with each of you in Manchester and please take a moment while you are there and get to know a someone that you have not had the opportunity to spend time with. I assure you that it will be the most rewarding time you will spend.

With Love, Carla

Message from your GFWC of TN Treasurer

Soon we will all be actively back working in our Clubs. Hopefully we will approach the beginning of the new Club year with interest and enthusiasm. May we also approach it with determination to meet deadlines, submit all paperwork on time, and report, report, report all our good work at the end of the year.

Dues this year are the same as last year - $12.00 per member. $10.00 of this goes to GFWC, and $2.00 remains with the State. Only Clubs which have paid their dues before January 15 will be eligible for awards. Please ladies, let's be 100% in paying our dues in a timely fashion.

Please consider making donations to the Tennessee Endowment Fund, Tennessee Headquarters, Pennies for Art, Tennessee Scholarship Fund, and the Unicorn Fund at the same time you pay your dues. $1.00 per member will make your Club 100% on any of the above funds which you choose to support. The Club Treasurer's Report in the Year Book has it all spelled out. Make a copy of this page, and send it with your check made out to GFWC of Tennessee. This will make it easy for me to be sure that your monies are allocated as you wish. Thank you, and Let's have a great year!!

Jo Webb

We're off to a great start this year, with lots of energy and enthusiasm evident in all areas.

Keep up the good work, Ladies, and let's keep GFWC of TN in the Winner's Column !

TFNEWS Submissions - SEND NEWS NOW!

The Tennessee Federation News is YOUR newsletter. Make it work for you by sending in your club news articles, pictures and other items that will be interesting to members..

Some clubs use the TFNews in their meeting, reading about what other clubs are doing, and all the FUN they're having.

Some clubs use the TFNews as a recruiting tool to show prospective members what is being done across the state, and what can be done.

About 36 clubs are 100% subscribers. ALL clubs can be 100%, by including the $2.00 per year in the dues. This is probably the easiest way to assure that each member will receive her own copy of each issue.

SEND your articles and pictures to Anne Babin, PO Box 547, Collierville TN 38027' or by email to adbabin@aol.com.

AND remember to let us know of any address changes as soon as possible.

If you have a favorite quotation or saying, please share it with us.

Some members say they use these little "fillers' in their club meetings.

Perhaps you have heard a "goodie" recently. Send it in and we'll try to use it. (No Jokes, please.)
