MEET ANN DURALL - First Vice President,

DEAN of Departments

As requested by our fine editor of TF News, I am submitting a bio about some of the things that make my life interesting and busy. I am married to Jim Bob Durall, a retired engineer, who loves V-8 Fords so we like to attend car shows around the US and sometimes drive our 1936 Ford Roadster. We have five children and nine grandchildren and expect another grandson in August. Holidays at our house are interesting to say the least. As all of you know, I have more than a passing interest in photography and sometimes find time for watercolor. Second Presbyterian Church is very special to me. Gardening is a special love and sometimes, cooking.

I have been a member of GFWC Ossoli Circle for 12 years and find that my membership there is very rewarding. I made a commitment to GFWC in 1975 and have never looked back. I feel so lucky to have found an organization that reaches out to women that have a need to “give back.” I am lucky to have found all of you.

Let’s talk about reporting for just a minute.

I am the First Vice President of GFWC of TN and that means that I am Dean of Departments, Clubs and State Chairmen! We have some work to do for the next two years, together. First, I want you to know that you can contact me at anytime with questions about reporting. We will work together!

You will receive the TN Handbook in September with lots of information about reporting but I want to give you a sample of some of the new things that you can look forward to for the coming two years. Believe me, it is going to be simpler than ever before.

Here we go!

GFWC is providing a special form for reporting our activities in Departments.

It is a statistical chart to use for reporting our projects and programs in each of the 3 program areas of each of the 6 Departments. Clubs attach a one-page, double-spaced, narrative for each program area to the statistical report form. State Chairmen may attach 2 pages, double-spaced for their report to GFWC.

We will continue to report as usual for Special Projects and Standing Committees (cream color GFWC Program Book). A report form follows each Special Project and Standing Committee. Use one page for the narrative unless otherwise stated. All of the report forms will be in the TN Handbook for your convenience but make a copy so you have the report form for the following year.

Sometimes, a program/project does not seem to fit in with any of the reporting areas but GFWC suggests that you ask your club to help select the reporting area that is best.

New this year; There will be no cross-reporting except for Community Improvement Program. For instance: in the Fundraising Report, you may report all of your fundraising dollars on this one report or you may distribute the amounts in your other reports but you may not report it twice.

Another New Item This Year; GFWC wants all clubs to send to them a copy of all club reports. On February 15th of the next 2 years, clubs will mail a copy of their reports to the proper State Chairmen and clubs will also send a copy of each report to

GFWC, Dept. P, 1734 N St., NW, Washington DC 20036.

A bit of explanation for this is that GFWC wants to see if they will eventually be able to take on the task of recording club reports on CD’s/disks. At this point, reports will continue to be judged at the state level. We are just helping GFWC with a new idea that might make reporting even easier for the coming years.

Just a reminder to State Chairman of Departments, Special Projects and Standing Committees: remember to order your materials from the Program Book for our presentation for clubs at the September Board Meeting. We will display all that is received for club presidents to pick up and use for their clubs.

I hope that you will be pleased with the changes. I look forward to working with each of you. Adurall37@aol.com 865-675-5393 (telephone and FAX) Best Regards,
