LANA’S LETTER
May 9, 2004

It is with a heart full of gratitude and warmth that I pen this, my last Lana’s Letter to you, my wonderful fellow clubwomen. This entire edition could not possibly hold the many things for which I owe you thanks.
Certainly not least among them is the opportunity to have served as your president and to represent you in all matters GFWC. I have been so honored and so proud to be the face of GFWC of Tennessee and to let other club women across this nation know what it is like to belong to GFWC of Tennessee. I have had such a wonderful Executive Committee and Board of Directors and such a vivacious and fun Director of Junior Clubs with whom to travel.
Two years ago I implored you to be "Hearts in Unity, Beating For Others" and all of you who have GFWC in your own hearts have done just that. You have been so full of support for our new programs and have continued to support our existing ones. You have attended our conferences and conventions with such great enthusiasm and you have been so very kind and generous in your remarks about them. You have made me so proud when we have had our GFWC visitors, 1st VP, Jackie Pierce and Treasurer, Mary Ellen Laister, because you received them with such warmth and good old Southern Hospitality. You were extraordinarily gracious hostesses for our SER Convention in Nashville and helped make that meeting a huge success.
You have welcomed me to your clubs and your districts and have been so very gracious to me during these visits. I would be remiss if I did not say a special "thank you" to the many, many clubwomen in District 1 who gave me support and sought my guidance and leadership in understanding our organization Your bravery and integrity are to be commended to the highest degree.
Finally, there are three special people whose job can never be praised enough and who have all done it with remarkable skill - PP Isabel Edmands for Protocol, Martha Coradini for Credentials and, of course, our Editor, Anne Babin. These jobs take a tremendous amount of behind the scenes effort and the end result always seem to taken for granted. Thank you, my three Saints, for working so hard at it.
My congratulations to all the award winners listed herein. One more special thank you to my own club members and to my own District V for your major, big time contributions to my administration. YOU ARE THE BEST.
And finally, once again, I shall implore you. This time, it is to turn your attention to the 2004-2006 administration and share your love and support with Mary Love, as you have with me. Miss Raunchy and I bid you adieu with all our "hearts".

In Federation Love,

Lana
