Tennessee Federation News Issue October 2002

Greetings to my federation friends!
I hope everyone had a wonderful time in Manchester! What a great facility and it sure made for a wonderful Fall Conference. I have spent so much time just reading the great information in our state handbook. We, as clubwoman have a lot of projects to do over the next two years. I especially look forward in working with all of you on the GFWC Junior Special Project - Advocate for
Children. The new program WHALE, "We Have A. Little Emergency" is a great project for all clubs to work on. It is a car seat identification program. Information will be in future issues of Clubwoman Magazine or just give me a call and I will send something out to you.
If you did not take the tour of Jack Daniel's you sure missed a great time!!! Just go to their web site and you can see you fellow GFWC of TN clubwomen!!
If you did not get a chance to purchase any of the wonderful fundraising items the Juniors have please give our fundraising chairman, Donna Walls a call or email she would love to send some out to you. We have GFWC of TN
mouse pads ($5.00) and Portfolios ($10.00). They both make great new member
or speaker gifts. Be sure to order yours today.
I hope everyone has made plans to attend the Southeastern Region meeting in
Nashville. Be sure to attend the Fun Night on Friday night and the State Skits on Sunday Morning. Our President has a wonderful skit for us of nothing
better than the Grand Ole Opry!

The Bible tells us to Encourage One Another, and what better way to follow that teaching than to invite and encourage a friend or neighbor to join your club? Look around and see who you know and invite them to be a part of your work. Many hands make light work, remember? Many hands also make big jobs seem like more fun for everyone involved.

Have you Encouraged your own club members? Just a word or two of praise every now and then will work wonders with the morale and attitude of your friends and members.

Leaders need the Most Encouragement of all. Tell your officers if you think they're doing a good job. If you have a complaint, tell the person it concerns, Please don't grumble in the background.

And don't forget to use the TFNEWS as a recruiting tool in getting your new members.

4. Call to Convention 2003 - Deadline March 10, 2003
5. Post Convention - Deadline May 10, 2003
2003-2004 - following the same format:
6. Call to Fall Board and Regional Meetings (as scheduled) - August 10, 2003
7. Post Fall Conference - based on conclusion of all 3 Regional Meetings. About mid-October, 2003
8. Reporting Highlights - December 10, 2003
9. Call to Convention 2004 - March 10, 2004
10. Post Convention/End of Administration - May 10, 2004
