Tennessee Leadership Seminar

(NEW GFWC of TN State Project)

Chairman: Joan Beaver

Tennessee Leadership Seminar is a three-day educational leadership program for students who are sophomores or juniors in high school. The mission of the program is to promote, provide, inspire and develop leadership. These are some of the procedures utilized:

  • Panel discussions with leaders in media, education, business and government. Students conduct the sessions and have the opportunity to ask questions.
  • Featured speakers dealing with topics of concern to the young people
  • Skill-building games and activities
  • A volunteer project
  • Goal setting
  • The opportunity to listen and be heard and communicate their ideas

How can club members help?

  • Phone schools in their communities to encourage a student recommendation
  • Serve as a facilitator at the seminar.
  • Sponsor a student to attend at $175.00.
  • Furnish items for the “goody bags”.
  • Supply snacks or candy.
  • Any donation will be appreciated, if not sponsoring.
  • Ask students they sponsor to visit a club meeting to tell their TLS experience.

This program is being conducted with the same dedicated volunteers who were formerly affiliated with Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) and are determined to provide the same quality program as in the past.

Plan for your club to participate by sending donations or sponsorships to the Treasurer:

Martha Coradini
2607 Chimney Lake Circle
Soddy-Daisy, TN 37379

Checks should be made payable to Tennessee Leadership Seminar, Inc.

The Tennessee Leadership Vision:

  • To provide Leadership information
  • To teach young people to think for themselves in a responsible manner.
  • To inspire young people to place these skills into action.
