GFWC Stones River Woman's Club Celebrates

"Christmas at Two Rivers Mansion"

GFWC Stones River Woman's Club held its annual Christmas Open House at Two Rivers Mansion in Donelson TN December 7-10, 2002. The warmth and hospitality of the holiday season radiated from the mansion when Stones River held its 20th annual Open House. The mansion was beautifully decorated by area florists. Baked goods, which the club members had made, few off the shelves at "Ye Olde Bake Shoppe". Members and guests at the Preview Party (Gala) enjoyed the silent auction, the Holiday Craft sale and a delicious buffet. Those attending the Open House sere served refreshments of hot spiced cider, punch and cookies made by club members. A cookbook of members' cookie recipes was sold at the Open House. Docents made the tour of the mansion very informative. The proceeds from the Open House benefit the restoration of the mansion and also help fund the club's many projects.

Pictured in the collage (in no order) are Betty Briggs decorating the "Bird Tree", Marian Ezell, Linda Vockel in one of the beautifully decorated rooms, Pat Boatman and Judy Basse in "Ye Olde Bake Shoppe" (where the only heat comes from the fireplace), President Nancy Snapp, GF of TN President Lana Robinson, Tana Sowell;Winn Crook and Nancy Snapp at the Silent Auction; Hilda Imes and Catherine Smith - registration, and Margaret Colby - past-president and greeter.
