CARLA'S COMMENTS - Carla Goff, Director of Junior Clubs

Greetings!

It sure does seem like forever since we last chatted! The beginning of the year is always so busy. Just when we think we can take a breather after the hectic holiday season, the "Reporting" season starts! So, I am sure that this finds each of you up to your ears in reporting! I have once again been amazed at the work of our Tennessee Juniors. I just can not believe the work that these ladies can do. Like the saying goes, "we may be little but we are strong"! I think that I need about 10 pages for my Directors report! I hope that each of you found the changes in the reporting guide to be helpful and easier to complete. I do want to take this opportunity to remind each of you that ALL clubs can report under the GFWC Junior Special Project, so as you start to make plans for this years club projects, be sure to pick a project and report it next year under Advocates for Children. I feel very strongly that each and every club does at least one project that can be reported here.

I am really looking forward to the Annual Convention in Nashville next month. It is always so wonderful to visit with my dear federation friends and to see all of us "tooting our horns" during awards! So, if you haven't already made plans to attend please be sure to do so. The Juniors have planned a event on Friday night that is sure to be enjoyable for everyone! So be sure to make your reservations early before it fills up!

GFWC BRANDYWINE WOMAN'S CLUB

The GFWC Brandywine Woman's Club of Old Hickory was recently presented with a plaque by Friends in General at Nashville General Hospital in appreciation of the Club's support of the "Baby Blanket Project". For the last year and a half, members of GFWC Brandywine have volunteered their time and talents to make blankets for babies born at the hospital. Pictured are Kay Lunsford, Club president, with Barbara Hopper and Mary Ellen England, who are both club members.

A letter to the Club from the co-chairs of the Friends in General Baby Blanket Project, states: "Your dedication to this volunteer effort has been truly inspiring. Because of your hard work we have been able to continue this warm and comforting project throughout the year. To date, due to groups like yours, we have been able to provide some 2,500 blanket sets to new mothers at Nashville General Hospital at Meharry.
