REPORTING! By Ann Durall

I am going to assume that you will receive this newsletter March 15 or thereafter.

To Clubs: I hope that your club reporter was thanked for the great job she did and that your reporter was in awe of how much her club contributed to hours/dollars/participation to make your community an even better place to live because your club made a difference in so many areas. I very humbly thank you.

Off your reports went to district and state chairman! Districts are meeting, even now, as you read this article. Your report was judged with other reports from your district. I hope that each of you share the good will and information that comes from being together with other clubs. This is a great chance to meet other clubwomen in your area. Have a great time! I very humbly thank you.

I have heard from many state chairmen and they are excited with all of the reports coming in from across the great state of Tennessee. Judging of the reports is hard to do sometimes with so many dynamic programs and projects. You don’t make it easy! but, I very humbly thank you.

Our Tennessee Junior Chairmen have sent their information to General Tennessee Chairmen and the final report will be in Washington, DC by March 15th or before. We’ll come a long way, Clubwomen of Tennessee. My hat is off to you!

As for me, I’m going to design for you, the best certificates that I possibly can because you deserve the best. Thank you to clubs, reporters, chairmen of districts and state.

You make GFWC of TN very proud.

Woman's Club of Hendersonville

This past November, our club/Education committee organized a performance by
the Nashville Opera of Mozart's Magic Flute for the opening of a new Education Pavilion at Historic Rock Castle. The performance was free to all school age children and every school in Sumner County was notified via the Sumner County Board of Education, posters, and published newspaper articles. The primary purpose of the event was to provide an educational experience for area students along with an introduction to the Pavilion at this 18th century historic site.

We were extremely pleased with the turnout. There were approximately 200 students with many parents and adults in attendance. There was a wonderful follow-up article in the paper following a 'pre-event' article which featured the Woman's Club's participation in this effort. GFWC Woman's Club of Hendersonville has been instrumental in raising funds to build the Educational Pavilion. This project fulfills our truest purpose: reaching out to our community, serving our community, and promoting education.
