GFWC Centennial Woman's Club of Tullahoma

The GFWC Centennial Woman's Club of Tullahoma donated books to the East Lincoln Elementary School in Tullahoma as their Libraries 2000 project. East Lincoln Elementary is in a lower income area of Tullahoma. Librarian June Parker expressed the school's gratitude.

GFWC Loudon Woman's Club

The (Loudon) News-Herald Community Life page on Sunday, Jan. 1, carried a full half-page of pictures and text about the annual Poetry Contest for Students in Loudon, Philadelphia and Steekee Elementary schools and Fort Loudon Middle and Loudon High schools.

GFWC Loudon Woman's Club sponsored the contest, and announced winners in the four categories. Janet Peters, club member, said 55 poems were entered.

The News-Herald published pictures of the winners in each of the four categories, as well as the four first place winning poems.

GFWC Kingston Woman's Club

This picture shows the 100% devotion that the GFWC Kingston Woman's Club has to the Unicorn Project.

On a snowy cold day in January the total membership of our club went to visit in person the facilities in Wartburg. Of course we took a whole trunk load of goods for them to sell -- as well as made another monetary contribution. On the way up the mountain, we observed the havoc in Mossy Grove from the tornado.

Our ladies enjoyed seeing first-hand the operation of the Unicorn Project.

Left to right, Dorothy Skinner, Lillian Proctor, Jeanette Evans and Agnes Knight.
