LANA'S LETTER -
GF of TN Convention News, and More

It’s hard to believe almost a year has passed since installation. It has been a year filled with rewarding and gratifying activities and I thank each of you for your hard work and especially for your warm welcomes when I visited your districts and events.

I hope you will make your plans now to attend this year’s Convention. It is going to be such fun to be in the heart of downtown Nashville. The Hilton is a BEAUTIFUL hotel, right in the center of “The District”. You can walk to the Country Music Hall of Fame, The Wildhorse Saloon, Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge and my own personal favorite night spot, Robert’s.

I think you will really enjoy the suites at the hotel. They are so lovely and make it quite nice for those who like to “double up” to reduce costs. Your rate also includes a full breakfast buffet each day as well as complimentary beverage service each afternoon. For those of you traveling alone who would like to be matched up with a roommate, you will find how to do so elsewhere in this publication.

From the preliminary reports I have seen, you have really worked hard this year, so I want you to be there to share the excitement of the awards. You have also done a great job with the new report form. My thanks to Ann Durall for her dedicated work on that.

I also want to invite you to attend the GFWC International Convention in Little Rock, Arkansas, June 27th. – 30th. Since it is close enough for most of us to drive, I urge you to take advantage of this opportunity. If you’ve never attended a GFWC Convention, there is no way to explain to you the wealth of information and knowledge about Federation you will glean. I can also assure you that you will never receive a greater welcome than you will from the gals in Arkansas. I know they are committed to making this a wonderful event. I will have more information for you at our Convention.

Finally, I would ask each of you to offer a prayer every day for those brave men and women who are serving our country and for the families they have waiting here at home. Perhaps your club can find something special to do for these families to let them know how much we appreciate their sacrifices.

SEE YOU AT CONVENTION—In Federation love, Lana
