GFWC Coytee Woman’s Club

Seven members of the GFWC Coytee Woman’s Club attended the GFWC of TN District II fall meeting at the Airport Hilton, Alcoa TN. District II president Della Gowan presided and each Department Chair gave reports.
GF of TN’s first VP Ann Durall gave a reporting update and changes that clubs need to know. A Parliamentary Moment included questions and answers on Roberts Rules of Order. Club members brought Children’s books for the COPS AND READERS project, to be donated to a local Police Department. Each Club brought Theme Baskets for a Silent Auction.
GFWC Loudon Woman’s Club and GFWC Coytee Woman’s Club will serve as hostesses for the District II Spring 2004 meeting.

"The Students Club" Celebrates its 105th Anniversary

The month of October program leader, Lola Estep and Martha Williams, chairman of the GFWC of TN International Affairs, organized a surprise party to celebrate the 105th Anniversary of the GWFC of TN "The Students Club."

Don Trotter, Mayor of the City of Clarksville, attended the celebration and read a proclamation stating October 8, 2003 as GWFC of TN "The Students Club" Day.

Lana Robinson, President of the GFWC of TN brought greeting and gave an excellent program of the meaning and objects and goal of the GFWC of TN and how to increase membership.

Stacey Segovia, Features and Events Writer the Clarksville Leaf Chronicle was also a guest and wrote a thorough article for the Sunday Edition about the GWFC and the GWFC of TN "The Students Club." Because of this article, several people called and said they are deeply interesting in pursuing membership. Thelma Garrett, Member, played "Happy Birthday" on the piano. All Twenty-nine members and guests in attendance were very pleased and proud to celebrate 105 years of existence.


The GFWC Germantown Woman's Club participated in the Race for the Cure in Germantown by volunteering at the Race Store, assisting with the Survivor's Luncheon, and having a large group participate in the race. Due to the fact that several members and their friends are survivors, the club supports community awareness.
