Hello to ALL as we begin a beautiful Fall and a New Club Year. Wasnt Fall Conference great!! I think we had some of the most moving and enlightening programs ever. This Fall Conference was surely be remembered as having taken place in super surroundings with fantastic food, a delightful visit from Jackie Pierce, and loads of fun for all. And obviously, there are great things in store for this year. In keeping with this enthusiastic mood, Im sure that ALL Clubs are going to send in their dues, donations, and subscriptions right away so that the good start will keep going full steam ahead. CLUB TREASURERS! Please remember to use the form provided in the Yearbook (page 116) when sending in your dues and donations. This will be sure to have things recorded the way you meant them to be, and you will get credit when you are 100%. Also dont forget the deadlines. December 1st to make your District President look good, and if you want extra credit on the Club Rating Guide (and who doesnt ?). January 15th is the DEADLINE if you want to be considered for awards. Please do you and me this favor. Have a great Fall. Rake the leaves. Clean the Gutters. Root for your Teams. And enjoy the fellowship and participating in the projects of your Club. across the nation, we were recently contacted by a gentleman at GMA.
And, as of our most recent message from him, we learned that there
is a possibility that we may put together some kind of a partnership
with the show. Thank you again for your quick and thorough action. We will keep you posted as this conversation progresses and hope to share more definitive news with you in the very near future. Fall 2003 District II Meeting Sixty-four members of GFWC of Tennessee District II met October 25, 2003, at the Airport Hilton, in Alcoa, Tennessee, for their fall meeting. New program and project ideas were shared by the department coordinators, and reporting updates were given by GFWC of Tennessee First Vice-President Ann Durall. Club presidents shared reporting concerns and suggestions. Members were given an opportunity to ask parliamentary and protocol questions in a session led by District II Parliamentarian Mable Westbrook and assisted by Joan Beaver and Susan Martin. The membership emphasis, ACT in OCT, was presented by JoAnn Kembel, and District II President Della Gowan issued an additional challenge for District II. The club in District II who has the most new members from October 1 through December 31 receives a complimentary paid registration and lunch to the spring District II meeting for their club president.
