GFWC of TENNESSEE Fall Board 2003

The Holiday Inn Express in Manchester was a beehive of activity for the second time in this administration as 112 members of GFWC of Tennessee gathered for the 2003 Fall Board and Conference. It was a weekend full of information, informality, FUN and learning.

GFWC VP Jackie Pierce and Clark Flatt, President and CEO The Jason Foundation were the main speakers, and both were outstanding. Mr. Flatt spoke on "Preventing Youth Suicide" from a personal standpoint, and mesmerized his audience.

VP Pierce gave two presentations: "How to Be a President" which was full of pointers for everyone, especially leaders. At the Saturday Dinner, she emphasized "You and Me in Harmony in GFWC".

The contests were fun, too, with Cowboy Boots, Sandals and Best Shoes vying for attention at meal functions. And oh, those Meals! Such good food - ah-h-h.

ALL of the presentations by Department Chairmen were excellent, and we brought home a lot of good information to share with our clubs.

ACT in OCT ! ALL clubs are asked to increase membership by at least one during the month of October. GFWC of TN has extended the deadline for this membership recruitment drive through the end of December. Work on membership ladies, and let’s put GF of TN on the Map with New Members!

The Lynchburg Luau was exciting, with a delicious Hawaiian-type menu, decorations galore and members in costume everywhere you looked. Fun Time featured a Hawaiian guitarist who taught the assemblage how to HULA! And that was a sight to behold.
