Pat Williams in New York
The Cheering Section for Pat Williams
More about the walk Patricia Williams, Director-Elect of GFWC of Tennessee Junior Clubs walked in New York City's Avonwalk for Breast Cancer in honor of her 88 year old mother, a two-time breast cancer survivor. Patricia Williams, with the support of the GFWC Johnson City Junior Monday Club, walked 23 miles crossing through three boroughs and over three major bridges in New York City September 20 and 21. Patricia has been a member of the Johnson City Junior Monday Club for 18 years. Her club donated part of the over $2,000 dollars that she raised for the Avonwalk, and three other club members joined her in New York as her cheering section. Submitted by Darla Dye.
Thank you! The generosity of the club women that attended the GFWC International Convention in Little Rock and the GFWC Board of Directors Meeting in Savannah resulted in over $2,500 being raised to support GFWCs operating budget. -- GFWC Thoughts on WORDS "Handle them carefully, for words have more power than atom bombs." -- Pearl Strachan We have too many high sounding words, and too few actions that correspond with them." -- Abigail Adams "Actions can say more than words, but without words actions can be meaningless." -- Michael McEwan
