JANE ALLEN
District 9 President

Jane met and married her husband Bob while serving in the United States Navy Nurse Corp. They settled in Jackson to raise their family. Jane joined the GFWC Jackson Woman's Club in the mid 1970's and has been president for 3 terms over the years.

She continues to be very active and supportive of all programs for the club.

Congratulations, Jane, on your election as District 9 President. We know you will do a great job.

Hi Ladies,

It sure has been a crazy and busy summer. I really missed seeing you all at convention and summer board, but I had family commitments. My youngest daughter got married on July 25th, at Carolina Beach NC. Now I'm ready to get down to business of the GFWC of TN. Work.

First I would like to introduce the Fundraising committee for the 2004-2006 GFWC of TN:
I, Sandy Lindeman, will chair this committee
Jr. Fundraising -- Cindee Barbarito
TN Endowment -- Kate Lapczynski
TN Headquarters -- Sherri Carroll
TN Dollars for Delegates -- Renee Keene
GFWC Fundraising -- Stacy Smith
1734 Society -- Matilda Bowen

The fundraising committee is in charge of raising the funds to keep the GFWC of TN functioning. I think we have some fun things in store for you and some neat items for you to purchase. At Fall Conference we will have sun visors, Charms and Iris note cards for sale.

Booths
We will be selling booths to individuals and clubs to sell items of their choice. The booths would be a great time for clubs to sell cookbooks etc. The booths will be $20 (for a table and 2 chairs) Saturday & Sunday. If you want an additional table it will be $10 more. The form is in this edition, deadline is September 1,2004 and payment must be included.

White Elephant Sale
We will have fun with a White Elephant Auction. We are asking members to bring something you have at your house that you don't want any more. Maybe something you were given as a gift you didn't like, an item you bought at another auction, etc. and we will auction them off at an action Saturday night after the dinner. I think it will be fun.

Dollars For Delegates
Dollar for Delegates is going to hold a silent action of Holiday decorations, or baskets. We are asking each club to bring and item to use for this fundraising. We won't ask again in the spring.

If you have any ideas that would be fun or you think would be a good idea to sell to raise money for the GFWC of TN let me know.

See you at Fall Conference
Sandy Lindeman
