District II President
Kendra Walker Patty

Kendra Walker Patty has been a member of the GFWC Knoxville Woman's Club since 1993. She was President from 2000-2002- the club won outstanding club both years.

Presently she is GFWC District II President. Some District goals this year include: having a District quilt made, District Day Project that all clubs participate in, and a new District Award -Outstanding District II
Club woman. She hopes that the clubs will have the membership have fun while they help improve our cities over the next two years.

Kendra writes "My mother, Sue S.Walker, has been a Club woman for many years and also belongs to the GFWC Knoxville Woman's Club. Sue has been a past District and State President. Mom is the reason I am a member of the GFWC. She showed me how important it is to give back to our communities and to meet
new people and have fun.

"My sweet daughter Ms. Kendal is 2 years old and has attended many many club meetings. She feels right at home with the
club women. A future club woman I am sure.

"My husband, Brian Patty and I have been together for 15 years, married 6 years. He is a wonderful GFWC booster member.

"GFWC runs in our families' blood. We are all involved in club work in some way. "

District II President,

KAREN'S KOINER Karen Lewallen,
GF of TN Treasurer

"DON'T PAY THOSE DUES JUST YET!!

I know a lot of us like to go ahead and get dues in early, but this year there's a change on the horizon!

Due to a change in the GFWC by-laws, dues will be increasing by $1.00 per member. This will affect the 04-05 and 05-06 club years.

That means our GFWC of Tennessee dues will need to increase to $13.00 per member this year.

This will be addressed more fully at Fall Conference, but we did want to give everyone a "heads-up".

The information will also be in your GFWC of Tennessee handbooks under the Treasurer's information; and extra handouts for club treasurers will be available at Fall Conference, also.

President-Elect ANN DURALL

It is the responsibility of the President Elect to be Dean of Districts and begin preparing for the job as the GFWC of TN president. The President Elect and District Presidents work together to strengthen and organize the "big picture" of clubs in TN. Materials are distributed to District Presidents at each meeting. The President Elect requests that District Presidents:

· maintain list of clubs and affiliates within her district
· send copy of district officers and appointed positions to President and Corresponding Secretary
· select date in the Fall of even numbered years for district meeting and invite the GFWC of TN President to attend and explain the programs and projects of her administration so clubs have the benefit of this information and the opportunity to meet the new president.
· create a District Library of GFWC materials for clubs and show clubs how to order materials
· Go over District bylaws to assure that they "link" with GFWC of TN bylaws
· Select programs and projects that address the needs and interests of clubs.
· New this year!
