Patricia J. Williams
GFWC of TN Director of Junior Clubs

Biography & Goals for administration

The theme for Pat's administration is Hands Joined in Federation, Reaching Others. Her area of emphasis will be Juniors' Special Project: Advocates for Children. This is the only Junior project in which General clubs can report and receive awards. She hopes that all clubs, Juniors and Generals, will take part in this project. She also will be stressing membership and the establishment of new Junior and Juniorette Clubs. While Junior Membership Chair, Pat learned that there were many young women who were interested in joining a Junior or Juniorette Club, but there were none in their area of the state. Pat's goal is to have at least two new Junior Clubs or Junior Departments and two Juniorette Clubs in the GFWC of TN family by 2006. It will take the help of all Juniors and Generals to meet these goals.

Pat is a member of the GFWC Johnson City Junior Monday Club. She served as the club president in 2000-2002 and has held numerous other positions as well. She is currently serving on the GFWC Junior Board's Juniors' Special Project Committee. She has served on the GFWC of TN Junior Board as Director- Elect of Junior Clubs and Membership Chairman, Junior's Special Project, Advocates for Children Chairman, Junior Fundraising Co-Chair and Junior Public Relations Committee Chair. She received the GFWC Outstanding Junior Clubwoman Award in 2001.

Pat is currently employed by East Tennessee State University as an activities co-coordinator for children's enrichment programs. She is certified to teach elementary and deaf education and is a graduate of George Peabody College for Teacher's of Vanderbilt University, and the Smith College and Clarke School for the Deaf Teacher Training Program.

She has served on the Administrative Board and Church Council at Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church in Johnson City and taught Sunday school for many years. Pat is active in numerous service activities through her work in GFWC and participated in the Avon Foundation's Marathon Walk for Breast Cancer Research, the Relay for Life and the March of Dimes Walk against Birth Defects.

Pat is single and is the proud owner of a spoiled Scotch Terrier named Maggie McDougall. She enjoys attending live theater and traveling. Her favorite forms of recreation are walking and swimming. Pat is a storyteller and has also been known to "clown around" as a street clown!
