GFWC of Tennessee
Volume 3, Issue 1        TennesSEE Volunteers Using Our Infinite Potential         August 2004
Tennesseans Take the Big One Community Improvement Program funded by Shell Oil Company.

The award could have been from $1500 ranging up to $5000 cash for the finalist clubs from Kentucky, California, Massachusetts, Maryland and Tennessee - money to be used for their next local projects. Shell OIL had invited these top five winning clubs to be their guests at the Celebration Banquet held at the 2004 GFWC convention at the Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

Stacey Smith and Pat Bomba were there to represent the GFWC Dickson County Woman's Club of Tennessee, District 6 and to accept one of the top place awards that had been announced.

The suspense was 'which of the five awards?'. There wasn't a dry eye in the crowd of 1400 delegates after Stacey Smith gave a delightful speech describing the club's project which they called the Field of Dreams.

Neither were the fourteen Tennessee delegates in their seats after the second place award was finally announced and we realized that the GFWC DICKSON COUNTY WOMAN'S CLUB HAD WON FIRST PLACE in the Community Improvement Program 2004 funded by Shell Oil Company.

GFWC of TN congratulates the GFWC Dickson County Woman's Club on their outstanding project. We are very proud of you. Stacey Smith has agreed to share this project with those attending Fall Board & Conference in September.
