Stones River Woman’s Club

Greeting from your Literature & Performing Arts Chairman

May I take this opportunity to thank so many of you for your
timely response to the Poetry and Short Story Contest deadlines.
Don't forget to report your time and the ways you rewarded the
winners.

Please remember to report how you support the performing arts in
Tennessee and in your home towns.

Music and theater are an important part of our clubs' programs. Brag about the ways you help the local theater, school chorus, band, the skits you write and perform, or your club's music program.

Thanks for keeping the Arts in the GFWC of Tennessee strong. You are all winners.

GFWC Lenoir City Woman’s Club visits Dairy Farm

The members of GFWC Lenoir City WC toured a Third-Generation Dairy farm. Shown in the picture is Owen James in the newborn nursery. This dairy farm practices conservation while raising all the feed on the farm for the herd. They got a better understanding of Americans Feed America.

GFWC Junior Chilhowee Club

From their newsletter “Junior Chilhowee Chatter”: In October, Junior Chilhowees donated over 75 pounds of food to the Community Food Connection, enjoyed a program about their services, and packed dozens of food bags for the next distribution.

In November, they packed over 30 Christmas boxes for children who will be receiving nothing else at Christmastime.

In December they planned to help pack toys for children whose names were submitted during Christmas Clearing House in October (over 1300 of them).

And for their Christmas meeting, after dinner at the Bel Air Grill, they planned to go to the National Guard Armory to help the Junior Service League pack toys for Toys for Tots.
