Membership - Sandy Lindeman

Hi Ladies, I enjoyed reading all the reports the clubs sent, and let me assure you the GFWC of Tennessee were busy working on membership. I have received a lot of names for “The Gold Card” which I will present at convention. If you have members that have been in the Federation for 50 years send me the names and I’ll try and get them their card.

I have really enjoyed serving as 2nd Vice President for the GFWC of Tennessee and I will always cherish the friendships I’ve made during this time. Hope to see you at convention, Sandy Lindeman

Membership is… the gift of Friendship

GFWC Brandywine Woman's Club Rallies for One of Their Own

The GFWC Brandywine Woman's Club recently rallied to help one of their own. This very special lady is Rosa Nash, 88 years old, deaf in both ears, who lived until recently when her hearing canine companion of 10 years succumbed to kidney disease. Needless to say, this was a great devastation to her. When her fellow club members heard about her loss, around Thanksgiving, they immediately began checking on a replacement hearing dog for her. They discovered this would be a costly endeavor. The Club voted to set up a committee chaired by Barbara Hopper to explore options for donations. They set plans in motion to sponsor a Rosa Nash Benefit Bridge and Card Luncheon. Proceeds raised would purchase and train a new hearing dog for Rosa. The affair was a huge success. There were several donations from individuals and companies in the community who know and love Rosa and wanted to help.

Jerry Hardin, Agency Manager of Modern Woodmen of America presented Rosa Nash and the GFWC Brandywine Woman's Club a matching funds check for $2500. This donation was presented in conjunction with the GFWC Brandywine Woman's Club Rosa Nash Hearing Canine Benefit. CHARTER MEMBER RESIGNS

The GFWC Loudon Woman's Club was very sorry when June Custead, a Charter Member of our club resigned. The reason given was health related. She has been a hardworking member for forty years. We will miss her very much, but wish her the very best in all her future endeavors.

Thelma Randby, President
